The Universe's debut album, billions of years in the making.
All occurring in one year and averaged into 10-minute segments.
Gravitational waves from merging compact objects observable by current ground-based gravitational-wave experiments produce audible chirps in the frequency range \(f \gtrsim 20\,\textrm{Hz}\). Due to the power-law nature of the gravitational-wave strain, \(|\tilde{h}| \propto f^{-7/6}\), the Universe prefers bass to treble, resulting in a low-frequency rumble dominated by binary black hole mergers.
